Xu Beihong Memorial Museum

To commemorate Xu Beihong’s patriotic spirit and his outstanding contributions to Chinese art, the Beijing Municipal Government decided to establish the Xu Beihong Memorial Museum at the former site of his residence on No. 16 Dongshoulu Street in Dongcheng District, Beijing. This is the first museum in the People‘s Republic of China dedicated to a single artist.The horizontal plaque inscribed with ’Beihong‘s Former Residence’ was handwritten by Premier Zhou Enlai.
