Water Gate Ruin of Jin Zhongdu

The discovery of the Water Gate of Jin Zhongdu offers us a rare glimpse into the early days of Beijing as an imperial capital. This remarkable site is not only the only officially excavated hydraulic facility from the Liao–Jin period (916–1234), but also the largest and best-preserved ancient water gate ever found in China.
